The itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Andamayo
We leave at 5:00am from Cusco towards Andamayo (3797masl), a 3-hour trip. Upon arrival, we greet the Apu and the local deities.
The residents welcome us with an enriching breakfast. The peasant women show us their daily activities, such as raising guinea pigs, raising livestock, and herding llamas.
We enjoyed a traditional lunch with healing infusions. In the afternoon, we say goodbye and head to Pacchanta (4200m), a 30-minute trip. There, we met with ceremonial masters and the local team, had dinner and settled into the lodge, enjoying free time and medicinal hot springs.
Day 2 – Pachanta
Early in the morning, the Apu greets us under the Cusco sun, welcoming us to the Ausangate experience.
After an offering ceremony to Pachamama, we enjoyed a breakfast with local ingredients. The residents show us their agricultural work and we prepare Pachamanca, a typical dish cooked underground. After lunch, the llama and alpaca herders show us their alpaca textiles, inviting us to participate in spinning and dyeing with ancestral methods.
The afternoon is filled with culture and tradition. After dinner, we enjoyed the medicinal thermal baths, with views of the Apu Ausangate and a starry sky.
Day 3: Wachuma ceremony
After breakfast, we begin a 2-hour walk towards the mountain, enjoying the views of Apu Ausangate and the alpacas in the wild (4630 m).
Upon reaching lagoons with crystal clear waters and vibrant colors, our spiritual guide begins a Sacred Experience, offering Ausangate medicine and an energetic cleansing.
We had lunch in a cabin admiring the majestic view. After a break, we participate in reading the Sacred Leaf of Coca, while others explore and meditate.
At sunset, the shaman guides us in a profound Wachuma ceremony. We spent the night in small mountain houses.
Day 4: Hike to Apu
At dawn, we enjoy a delicious breakfast under the blue sky and the sacred mountains.
We walked 2 hours along the Apu Ausangate to the viewpoint, guided by a specialist. At noon we return to Pacchanta for a succulent lunch and then return to Cusco.
